The reputed San-Geo English Medium School re-named now as “Sangeo Central School” is entrusted to, St.Joseph’s province CMC-Congregation of the Mother of Carmel-Sisters on May 2005 from the parish St. George Church Paduppu as per the decision taken in the Parish General Body Meeting. The school was started with 30 students in June, 1985 in the name of the Martyr St. George who sacrificed his life for the belief in Jesus Christ.
The school was started to satisfy the ardent desire for an English Medium School and to impart quality education in this hilly and educationally backward area. It was shifted to a spacious building, in Anakkallu in the year 2011. It offers co-educatio. The management is promoting admission to children of weaker sections of the society including scheduled caste scheduled tribes and so that they may in turn serve their community and speed up their emancipation. The teachers here are very dedicated and they are imparting standard coaching to the students for their holistic development. It is the hope of the school that each student becomes mature enough to be an asset to the family and loyal to our country.
It is the pressure from the parish and the public that compelled the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel to take over this school. The congregation is looking forward hopefully to the growth of this institution. Moreover, Sangeo is expected to lay strong emphasis on academic excellence and personality development based on the love of God and service of mankind as modeled in the Great Teacher Jesus Christ. No doubt, the co-operation, good will and timely help of the public and the government are essential for achieving its aims.
